The Black Olive - Wine Bar and Grill is the completion of a dream Matt Havey, owner and general manager, has had since he began his restaurant career many years ago. Matt and his family, long time residents of the area, found the right location in the heart of Rio Rancho, NM to open his new restaurant…The Black Olive - Wine Bar and Grill. He realized that both Rio Rancho and the entire west side of Albuquerque had recently seen the closing of several popular upscale casual dining restaurants, so he knew it was time to make the dream of The Black Olive come to life.

The Black Olive – Wine Bar and Grill signature menu items include the finest steaks and wines, along with classic Italian pasta dishes, and a new fresh taste and spin on everyone’s favorite comfort foods like the Black Olive’s version of New Mexico Green Chili Stew and the special half-pound “The Black Olive Burger”. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Havey knows just what his customers are looking for in their lunch and dining experience. As General Manager of the award-winning Gruet Steakhouse and at Copeland’s of New Orleans, he has lead his team to once again open his new and exciting restaurant in the heart or Rio Rancho. “We are very excited that The Black Olive – Wine Bar and Grill is opening in Rio Rancho. We want our customers to experience the best casual dining on the Westside. Our Wine Bar features the finest wines by the glass, great appetizers, and you’ll be able to catch your favorite sports on our four big HDTV’s hung just above our massive bar. The Black Olive – Wine Bar and Grill is located in the Country Club Center on Southern Boulevard and Pinetree, about a mile west of Highway 528 across from the Main Post Office in Rio Rancho.
